Watching reality stars on television and their excessively huge walk-in wardrobes never fails to put me in awe. When you come from a really average family with a really average background(just like the almost everyone else), attaining a walk-in wardrobe may be albeit impossible in a HDB unless wittingly well thought out by you and your interior designer.
If you have a master bedroom that is fairly big enough, diving spaces for your walk-in wardrobe should be as easy as pie. Opt out from using a door for your wardrobe so that your room will not look as ‘small’ as it was supposed to be.
Build a thin wall to partition between your bedroom and your walk-in wardrobe. All you really need is a small space(corners preferred as per the picture), to fit in your dressing table, wardrobes and a full length mirror.
Having a fancy walk-in wardrobe as one of THE #homegoals is not only subjected to the female population. Guys like to go big with their wardrobes too! (Asides from the men who only own 2 shirts, 2 pants and a pair of shoes and slippers.) It’s also not a necessity to use the typical wooden wardrobes, sometimes steel bars and glass panels are enough to create this ingenius look.
If you feel insecure without doors, then get one in glass. It works as well as not having one. It also creates the same illusion of having a wider space in your room(after apportioning a part of your room to your walk-in wardrobe of course).
As long as you can ‘walk-in’ and be surrounded by your carpentry, it doesn’t really matter how much you divide and conquer your room. As simple as this could be, all you need are two wardrobes facing each, throw in a carpet for a mini runway, a full length mirror and some spotlight and voilà! You have your very own mini walk-in wardrobe!
Walk-in wardrobes in HDBs are definitely attainable dreams, it might not look exactly like Celine Dion’s massive wardrobe or Princess Mia’s from Princess diaries, but hey as long as it’s your very own personalized ensemble, it amounts to pretty much the same satisfaction.
